Nico we were together in Haiti at the Canadian embassy together. I was the only black photographer at the embassy.

You are all amazing, stay SAFE. I can only imagine what you are all going through. I know that you have a great team back here in Canada that is doing all that they can for you but there on the ground you are very much on your own. I hope that this morning’s after shock/quake did not shake you all up too much and that you are all as well as you can be.
You are in my prayers as is Haiti.

I just wanted to say I think what you are doing is amazing, bold, incredible, and above all very courageous in its own way. I cannot imagine the emotional toll of covering a story like Haiti, for instance. Just the thought of all those bodies gives me the shivers. I am grateful to people like you who face crisis head on and report on it. Félicitations, bon courage, et bonne chance!

I know it sounds like an odd thing to say, but congratulations. Nadine, I know you’ve been thinking about doing something like this for some time. I think what you guys are doing is brilliant and important. I can only imagine the kind of logistical and emotional hurdles you will all face in the next month as you bring these stories to us.
